I really loved the presentations everyone made during this task. Every team was very helpful and did a great job presenting the content from their respective chapters. The biggest surprise for me was In reality, different groups did their presentations in such a way that the information was still very comprehendible. Some presenters explained the difficult concepts through detailed examples and real life applications, while others were more direct and straightforward in their explanations first and then going to the depths of the topic. I liked both methods because they helped keep the audience interested and helped me to understand the concepts better. Many presenters, by first laying out the key concepts clearly and then elaborating on them with more details, examples, and explanations, made the content seem less daunting and more familiar to me. Another thing I observed was how prepared each group was for their presentations. For some, the nerves showed but even in those case...

Walking into this assignment, I expected the information to be very superficial because I didn't think that there was so much that needed to go into speaking publicly. I honestly thought, “How can so many people have this much to say about how to perfect public speaking?" Surprisingly, that was not the case. Each presentation focused on different sides of communicating information and what was going on in the back end to make a presentation successful. I learned that it takes a lot of skill to prepare, organize, research and figure out ways to connect with an audience all in one presentation. I noticed that some groups focused on technical structures for the actual speeches and other groups focused on the delivery. I wpiu;ld have to say that every group contributed an equally important skill needed for effective public speaking. They all added layers to my understanding of what makes someone an effective speaker and how I can improve myself as a beginner. We started off with...

Blog 1:  Public Speaking Presentations      Public speaking has always been something that pushed me out of my comfort zone, but this assignment challenged me in a different way. While most of the class worked in groups to create and deliver their presentations, I completed mine on my own. At first, I wasn’t sure how I felt about that. It seemed like it might be harder without teammates to share the work and the pressure. However, looking back, doing the presentation independently turned out to be one of the most valuable parts of the experience. When I first started working on my PowerPoint, I realized that everything depended on me. I had to come up with the ideas, organize the content, and design the slides in a way that made sense. There was no one else to rely on if I got stuck or unsure about something. At times, this felt overwhelming, but it also pushed me to be more focused and responsible. I had to think more carefully about how I wanted to presen...

Group Blog Presentation  Leah Albertson Group 3        Introduction: In this class, I watched multiple groups present about important parts of public speaking  from the book we have from our class. Each group focused on different chapters, ideologies, and tips on how to speak, but overall, they all connected to the same topic, which was how to become a good and efficient speaker. The presentations consisted of the groups by choosing a purpose, researching, supporting ideas, using language and delivering a speech. As I watched each group, I eventually came to the conclusion that public speaking isn't just reading a piece of paper and talking to an audience. It has multiple factors like planning, organizing, practicing, research and even confidence.  ...

Mya McMurray Blog 1: Reflection on the Public Speaking Presentations Going through all of the presentations in class honestly made me look at public speaking in a completely different way. Before this class, I thought public speaking was mainly just standing in front of people and talking without being nervous. But after hearing everyone’s presentations and learning through each chapter, I realized there is way more that goes into being an effective speaker. Public speaking is not just about talking, it’s about confidence, preparation, understanding people, communication, organization, and learning how to connect with an audience. Overall, I think everyone did a really good job with their presentations. You could tell people put effort into researching their chapters, creating slides, and preparing information for the class. Even though everybody had different presentation styles and personalities, each group still explained their topics clearly and helped the class understand th...

My Experience with Public Speaking Presentations  Mia Rodriguez  Recently, my classmates and I presented different chapters from our Public Speaking class, and overall, I really enjoyed the experience. Even though I was very nervous before presenting, I feel proud of myself for getting through it and doing my best. Every group had a different chapter and different information to share, which made the presentations interesting and unique. I honestly do not think any group was boring because everyone clearly put effort into their slides, organization, and speaking. It was nice to see how creative and prepared my classmates were, and I think the presentations helped all of us learn more about communication and public speaking in different ways.  Watching Other Groups Present  The presentation that I enjoyed the most was Group 1’s presentation. I thought they explained their information very clearly and stayed organized throughout the entire presentation. Their slides we...
