My Experience with the Change-maker Presentations
Mia Rodriguez
Watching Other Groups Present
Out of all presentations, Group 4's presentation was probably my favorite. I thought they did an excellent job because they incorporated videos that were both informative and entertaining. The videos helped explain their information in a way that kept the audience interested and made the presentation easier to follow. I also loved how organized they were and how smoothly each member transitioned into their part of the presentation. It was clear that they had prepared well and worked together as a team.
Although Group 4 stood out to me the most, I believe every group contributed something valuable. Each presentation helped me learn more about the qualities that define a change-maker. I realized that change makers can come from different centuries and have different goals, but they all share characteristics such as determination, leadership, and the desire to improve society. Watching my classmates present reminded me that history is filled with people who were willing to stand up for what they believed in, even when facing challenges.
Presenting About Susan B. Anthony
Even though I was excited about my topic, I felt nervous when it was time to present. Public speaking has always been challenging for me because I worry about forgetting my words or making mistakes in front of others. To prepare myself, I practiced my speech several times and reviewed my information carefully. Although I still felt anxious, I reminded myself that I had worked hard and knew my material well.
One thing that helped me during the presentation was the support I received from my group members. Knowing that they believed in me made me feel more confident. Once I started speaking, I focused on sharing what I had learned rather than worrying about being perfect. By the end of my presentation, I felt proud of myself for stepping outside of my comfort zone and completing something that initially seemed intimidating.
What Susan B. Anthony Taught Me
One fact that impressed me greatly was that Susan B. Anthony traveled throughout the country giving speeches about equality and encouraging women to demand their rights. Despite facing criticism and opposition, she remained committed to her beliefs. Her determination showed me that creating positive change often requires patience and persistence.
I also learned that Susan B. Anthony voted illegally in the presidential election of 1872 because women were still denied the right to vote. Although she was arrested for her actions, she continued advocating for justice and equality. This demonstrated how strongly she believed in the cause she supported. Even though she did not live long enough to witness the passage of the 19th Amendment, her efforts helped pave the way for future generations of women.
In my opinion, Susan B. Anthony was an excellent choice for this project because she represents the qualities that define a true change-maker. She used her voice to challenge unfair practices and inspire others to take action. Learning about her story helped me appreciate the sacrifices people have made to secure rights that many individuals now consider ordinary.
Lessons I Learned from This Experience
Although I was nervous before presenting, I felt more confident because I had practiced my speech and understood my topic well. This presentation showed me that I have improved my public speaking skills throughout the semester and that I am capable of challenging myself, even when I feel uncomfortable.
Another lesson I gained from this experience was the importance of teamwork and encouragement. Having supportive classmates and group members made the entire process less stressful. Their kindness and encouragement reminded me that collaboration plays an important role in achieving success.
Additionally, this project encouraged me to think about the impact that individuals can have on society. The change-makers presented by my classmates demonstrated that positive change often begins with people who are willing to take initiative and advocate for others. Their stories inspired me to consider how I can contribute positively to my own community.
Looking Back on This Project
I am especially grateful that I had the opportunity to present about Susan B. Anthony because I consider her an admirable woman and an inspiring role model. Her courage, determination, and leadership continue to influence society today. Learning about her reminded me that meaningful change does not happen overnight, but that persistence and dedication can have a lasting impact.
Looking back, I feel proud of the effort I put into this project. Although I was nervous, I challenged myself to present confidently and share my knowledge with others. This experience helped me grow both academically and personally. Most importantly, it reminded me that one person truly can make a difference, and that change-makers from the past continue to inspire future generations to create a better world.

Very nice insight into the presentations.
